Investment Required Now
While the UK government has promised action on green energy, the jobs dividend has yet to be seen.
This is only partly because of skills shortages, which the government promises to address through various training initiatives.
The bigger problem is that many of the government’s plans reflect the intention to invest in renewables by 2030, rather than investing now for the future.
Financing the transition
Investment in green energy is needed now, not in 10 or even 20 years times. Many of the big energy companies are kicking a tin can down the road.
